Sarah-Joy Milner is an Afro-Indigenous Odawa and Oglala Lakota poet from Ann Arbor, Michigan. A citizen of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa tribe, she holds fellowships from Vermont Studio Center (2024), Indigenous Nations Poets (2024, 2025), and Sundress Academy for the Arts (2025). Her work has been published in Yellow Medicine Review, Odaawaa Zaaga'iganiing Review, and is forthcoming in Union Spring Literary Review. She received her BS in Psychology and BA in Human Resources and Labor Relations (2022) from Michigan State University, and her Master of Science in Human Resources and Organizational Development (2024) from Eastern Michigan University. After making the pivot to her passion (writing), she now resides in Tampa, Florida, where she is completing her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of South Florida as a graduate fellow.
