About sarah-joy
Sarah-Joy Milner is an Afro-Indigenous Odawa and Oglala Lakota poet and educator from Ann Arbor, Michigan. A citizen of the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa tribe, she holds fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center, Indigenous Nations Poets, and Sundress Academy for the Arts. Her work has been published in Yellow Medicine Review, Odaawaa Zaaga'iganiing Review, and is forthcoming in Union Spring Literary Review. Her work interrogates grief, lineage, and the body as a living archive— mapping how personal, familial, and colonial histories intertwine through cycles of health, language, and return. She currently resides in Tampa, Florida, where she is completing her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of South Florida as a graduate fellow.
